Thistle Paws Rescue is a Scottish based, not for profit dog rescue, dedicated to helping dogs in need find safe, loving homes.
Founded on more than five years of hands-on experience in the rescue world, we are committed to working with compassion, transparency, and a strong focus on the welfare of every dog.
Over the years, we have helped to manage rescue organisations, supported foster carers, conducted home checks, provided welfare advice, and fostered more than 30 dogs ourselves. Building on this experience, we have now taken the next step by establishing Thistle Paws Rescue, a rescue dedicated to giving dogs safety, stability, and the forever homes they deserve.
Why We Do What We Do
Rescues everywhere are under increasing pressure, and when rescues struggle, it is the dogs who suffer. Too many are abandoned, overlooked, or left waiting indefinitely in shelters.

Thistle Paws Rescue operates in accordance with The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021, which set out the legal standards for organisations involved in animal rehoming.We ensure all dogs in our care receive appropriate welfare, veterinary treatment, and behavioural support before adoption, and we adhere to the Scottish Government’s guidance for responsible rehoming practices.
